PGA TOUR
Patton Kizzire made three birdies, three bogeys, and an eagle to shoot a final round two-under 70 and win by five shots at the Procore. It’s his third victory in 241 starts since joining the PGA Tour in 2016. He now has a two-year exemption.
David Lipsky shot 71 to finish alone in second. He started the day four off the pace but he got within two on the back nine with two birdies, but bogeys on 13 and the par 5 18th set him back. The Northwestern graduate has played 167 tournaments on DP World Tour and he has two wins there.
Pattrick Fishburn finished third alone.
DP WORLD TOUR
Rory McIlroy started the day with a one-shot lead and it expanded to two shots on the back nine, but he made bogey on two of his final four holes while the Dane Rasmus Hojgaard charged forward birding his last three holes for a six-under 66 and a one-shot victory at the Amgen Irish Open. Hojgaard started the final round three shots off the pace. Overall, he’s second on the R2DR and 88th in OWGR. At age 23, he already has 5 wins on DP World Tour.
McIlroy has three victories this year at The Hero Dubai Desert Classic on DP World Tour and the Wells Fargo Championship and Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the PGA Tour, but it could easily have been more. He came so close today by missing a 10-foot eagle putt on the final green to force a playoff, and he lost the U.S. Open missing a couple of short putts down the stretch. A water ball prevented him from winning a medal at the Olympics.
Matteo Manassero started the final round one back of McIlroy and he shot a 69 to finish third.
Hojgaard’s brother Nicolai competes on the PGA Tour. He’s 81st on the FedEx Cup and 49th OWGR.
LPGA
The U.S. captured the Solheim Cup 15 ½ to 12 ½ despite an early rally today by the Europeans. Charley Hull defeated World #1 Kelly Korda. Overall, it was the first victory for USA since 2017. Coming in, the U.S. led all-time in the series 10-7-1 but Europe had prevailed in the last three contests. Regaining the Cup was sweet!
USA led 10 to 6 coming into today, and the Europeans fought hard in singles play. They won 5 of the 12 matches while the U.S. prevailed in 4 and 3 were tied.

Peterson moved from #51 to #15 on the Points List which will earn him PGA Tour status in 2025. Since turning pro in 2012, he has played around the world, competing in 95 tournaments on DP World tour with one win there.
Meanwhile, 33 year old Matt Atkins moved from #103 to #44 on the Points List. He now has fully-exempt status on the Korn Ferry Tour next year and he’s positioned well to make a move into the top 30 over the final two events.
Morgan Hoffmann continued an incredible comeback from a life-threatening illness to finish third. SFG player to watch Julian Suri shot a strong final round 65 to finish tied 26th. He moved to 88th on the Points List.
Two Korn Ferry Tour Finals events remain. This week’s Nationwide Children’s Hospital tournament in Columbus, Ohio (120-player field) and then October 3 thru 6 the Tour Championship in French Lick, Indiana (75-player field). Both will be broadcast on Golf Channel.
13 TOUR cards have been determined from the Korn Ferry Tour’s first 23 events, with eight soon-to-be PGA TOUR rookies and five earning a return trip.
The eight rookies are Matt McCarty, Tim Widing (Sweden), Steven Fisk, Taylor Dickson, Cristobal Del Solar (Chile), Quade Cummins, Kevin Velo, and William Mouw. The 5 who are returning to PGA Tour are Max McGreevy, Harry Higgs, Brian Campbell, Kevin Roy, and Ryan Gerard.
17 TOUR cards remain up for grabs while players also vie for continuing Korn Ferry status next year. The top-75 are fully exempt while 76 to 100 offers conditional status.
The top 30 players on the season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Points List after the Tour Championship will earn 2025 PGA TOUR membership. And the top player on the season-ending Points List will qualify for the 2025 U.S. Open at Oakmont and THE PLAYERS Championship at TPC Sawgrass. Also, he’ll be exempt from the TOUR’s periodic reshuffle of Korn Ferry Tour graduates.
